ERA provided structural engineering services for the Minnesota Autism Center (MAC), a specialized educational facility designed to serve students aged 13 to 21 with autism spectrum disorders.

This 50,000 sf building project represents a significant expansion of MAC’s capabilities in providing comprehensive education and life skills training. The structural design of the facility accommodates the unique needs of students with autism, incorporating spaces that support specialized learning environments and therapies. ERA’s expertise ensured that the building’s structure facilitates a range of educational and developmental activities crucial for students transitioning into adulthood. In addition to the main building, the project includes associated parking facilities to ensure easy access for students, staff, and visitors. A multi-use athletic field was also incorporated into the design, recognizing the importance of physical activity and outdoor experiences in the holistic development of students with autism.
