ERA served as the structural engineer of record for the new Eagle Brook Church campus in Plymouth, Minnesota.

This 65,000 sf, single-story facility features a thoughtfully designed sanctuary with dished/sloped seating at grade level and cast-in-place concrete seating risers. The structural design accommodates the sanctuary’s performance requirements while creating spaces for community gathering, including a welcoming lobby, café, classrooms, and various support areas. The structural system employs a hybrid approach, with roof framing consisting of metal deck supported by open-web steel joists bearing on a combination of precast concrete walls and steel framing. This design solution effectively addresses the large, column-free spans required in the sanctuary while providing economical framing for the surrounding spaces. The project demonstrates ERA’s expertise in creating efficient structures for religious facilities that balance architectural vision with practical construction considerations.
