ERA provided structural engineering services for the Nelson-Larson Science Center at Bethel University, a state-of-the-art facility designed to enhance the institution’s science programs.

This three-story, 31,000 sf building is strategically located on the edge of Lake Valentine, offering students a unique blend of indoor learning and outdoor research opportunities. The center features innovative laboratory and classroom spaces tailored to meet the needs of Bethel’s expanding science departments. Key components include research and teaching labs for biology, physics, engineering, and chemistry, as well as student spaces and enhanced circulation that improves wayfinding and access to daylight throughout the building. Completed in the fall of 2020, the Science Center stands as a testament to Bethel University’s commitment to advancing scientific education and research. This project showcases ERA’s ability to create flexible, forward-thinking structures that support academic excellence and foster innovation in higher education.
