ERA was the structural engineer of record for the renovation and addition at Windom Dual Immersion School in Minneapolis, MN.

This project focused on upgrading the lunchroom/kitchen facilities to align with district food services operations while enhancing building security. The original 1920 structure was largely preserved structurally, with modifications primarily involving the removal of non-bearing walls to reconfigure interior spaces. A new transitional space was added at the main entry point to improve security protocols and visitor management. The most substantial portion of the project was the lunchroom addition, which required careful integration with the century-old building structure. ERA’s work demonstrates expertise in sensitively adapting historic educational facilities to meet contemporary functional and safety requirements.
