ERA provided structural engineering services for the Fleet Farm Parking Garage, a significant project adjacent to US Bank Stadium in downtown Minneapolis.

This 6-level, 530,000 sf parking ramp, owned by the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority (MSFA), accommodates 1,614 vehicles and serves as a crucial infrastructure component for the stadium complex. The structure features a post-tensioned concrete slab and beam system. A key aspect of the design is its future-proofing, with the capability to support a potential 30-story vertical office expansion above the ramp. ERA’s design incorporated skyway connections to the adjacent Wells Fargo office tower and US Bank Stadium, enhancing pedestrian accessibility in the area. The façade combines perforated metal panels with architectural precast concrete, balancing aesthetics with functionality. Additionally, ERA designed an adjoining structural precast stair and elevator tower. The project presented significant challenges, including contaminated soils and high foundation loads due to the planned future expansion. ERA collaborated closely with geotechnical engineers to develop innovative solutions, including high-capacity deep foundations and the strategic reuse of on-site soils as re-compacted fill for the lowest level’s slab-on-grade.
