ERA served as the Structural Engineer of Record for the ambulatory outpatient specialty center, a significant addition to the Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) campus in downtown Minneapolis, MN.

This state-of-the-art facility comprises a 6-story, 377,000 sf building with an additional 117,000 sf of underground parking, providing 260 stalls. The center houses a comprehensive range of medical services, including primary care clinics, specialty clinics, and outpatient surgery facilities. Its striking architectural design, featuring bright colors and a prominent wall of windows on the facade, creates a bold visual contrast with its urban surroundings, making it a landmark in the downtown area. The design also incorporated sustainable features, leading to its Gold LEED certification by the U.S. Green Building Council, demonstrating a commitment to environmental responsibility in healthcare construction. Completed in early 2018 at an estimated cost of $229 million, this project represents a significant investment in Minneapolis’s healthcare infrastructure. Its excellence in design and construction was recognized when it was named a Top Project by Finance and Commerce.
